The "native desktop" difference

Parakeet runs in your browser. That makes setup fast — open a tab, paste a key, you're live. But it also means you're stuck in the browser sandbox: no native window-affinity flags, no system-level capture protection, no integration with the OS audio loopback for clean transcript input.

WispherFlow ships native macOS and Windows apps because some things only work outside the browser. Your interview window is registered with the OS as "exclude from capture." Your microphone is captured from the system mixer (not just the browser tab). And when you minimize the call, the copilot stays visible on a second monitor without losing context.

Practical impact: if your interview includes any moment where the interviewer asks you to "share your whole screen," a browser-based copilot is captured in the share. A native desktop copilot with OS-level protection isn't — the operating system itself excludes the window from the capture stream.

When Parakeet might fit you

Single-stack interviews, you're sharing a browser tab only, you don't want to install anything. Parakeet is fine for that narrow case.

For anything more — multi-stack work, FAANG-style loops, anything where screen-share might go full-screen, or any case where you want resume-grounded answers across many different reqs — WispherFlow is the safer call.
